The financial landscape is complex and constantly evolving, influenced by changing laws, regulations, technologies, and market trends. While navigating these financial waters is a full-time job for professionals, everyday individuals are often required to chart their own course—whether through investments, business ventures, or preparing for retirement. For most people, retirement planning represents their most significant financial undertaking.

Whether you’re already retired or still planning for the future, having a solid financial strategy is essential—and working with a knowledgeable expert can make all the difference. That’s where Eric Weschke comes in. With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Eric brings deep expertise in institutional investment theory, comprehensive financial planning, and tax-efficient retirement income strategies. Through his firm, Advanced Folio Capital Management, Eric uses his extensive knowledge and proven process to guide clients toward financial security, asset preservation, and sustainable wealth growth.

A Legacy of Financial Expertise: Family Roots and Academic Excellence

Eric Weschke’s financial acumen is part of his heritage. His mother, Catherine Montana, was among the first women to work directly on the stock exchange floor back in the late 1960s, and Eric inherited her passion for empowering others with financial knowledge. On the other side, his father, who led the engineering department at Suffolk College, instilled in Eric a strong mathematical foundation that supported his early academic and professional success.

Eric continued nurturing his financial interests throughout his education, ultimately attending the University at Albany. There, his passion and commitment earned him a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Finance and Management Information Systems, graduating with honors. Armed with this strong educational background, Eric launched his career in the financial services sector and quickly made his mark.

Philosophy and Values That Guide His Work

At the heart of Eric Weschke’s professional and personal philosophy is a simple, yet powerful principle: treat others the way you want to be treated. Whether advising clients or interacting with friends and colleagues, Eric believes in delivering value, educating those he serves, and ensuring they are well-prepared for retirement.

“I am all about providing value and education to my potential clients to give them a better retirement,” he explains.

Eric’s professional journey has been shaped not only by these core values but also by the influences of mentors and industry icons. Inspired by his parents’ work ethic and leadership, Eric also looks up to Warren Buffett for his unwavering integrity, vision, and investment discipline.

“What I admire most is how Warren Buffett stays true to his principles, even when facing criticism. His ability to consistently deliver strong returns while maintaining ethical leadership is truly inspiring,” says Eric.

Career Achievements and Professional Milestones

With more than three decades of experience, Eric Weschke has amassed an impressive resume filled with notable achievements. Early in his career, he managed and executed orders for the Institutional Pension Fund IGHL and played a key role as part of the Senior Executive Syndicate Underwriting team for a $20 million Initial Public Bond Offering. His dedication and results-oriented approach earned him the Advisor of the Year award from Comprehensive Planning in 2003.

A defining career moment came during his tenure at Northwestern Mutual, where in 2004, Eric was named the #1 Advisor in the United States for first-year representatives based on new business generated.

“That’s when I knew this was the right career for me—helping people find better financial solutions and truly making a difference,” Eric recalls.

Beyond his direct client work, Eric has consistently shared his expertise through public speaking and media appearances. He has delivered financial planning presentations to corporate audiences nationwide and previously hosted ‘Smart Planning Radio’, a New York-based financial talk show that launched in 2004. Today, he continues to educate the public through his podcast and social media channels, offering valuable insights on retirement planning and wealth management.

In addition to his client advisory work, Eric has held several influential leadership roles, including Chief Technical Analyst for the Swing-Trader Market Newsletter and Senior Executive VP Lending Officer and Northeast Region Planner for First National Bank of Arizona. These high-level roles helped refine his strategic vision, ultimately leading to the creation of his own firm—Advanced Folio Capital Management.
